Think backwards to guess this flipped out title.

Rumor has it the acronym for NOPE stands for Not of Planet Earth.

Don’t believe the hype.

Jordan Peele’s symbolism is too deep for such an obvious conclusion.

I think a clue was hidden in one of the official movie trailers.

Remember how the word “from” dropped from the top of the screen followed by Jordan Peele. Those words lingered on the screen, forcing you to read it from the bottom up in order for it to make sense.

From a logical standpoint, NOPE should have followed in the next sequence. But, it didn’t. The trailer continued with various scenes then concluded with a shot of Emerald (KeKe Palmer) being hoisted — backward — into the air.

It concluded with the word NOPE. I’m thinking JP was dropping a hint to flip the title.

What do you get when you spell NOPE backwards? EPON.

I know you’re thinking: WTF is an EPON! Hear me out.

EPON stands for Ethernet Passive Optical Networks, which are basically the 5G signals that are sent to smart devices like cellphones and televisions and manipulate what we think, buy and say.

After the Gordy intro, what’s the first thing that happens in NOPE. There’s a cellphone glitch followed by electric magnetic pulses throughout the rest of the film.

Therefore, I think folks got it wrong.

EPON makes better sense considering just about every flying saucer film features someone sending signals into outer space in the hopes of communicating with other worldly beings.

This time around, JP had the alien use our technology against us.

So, I’m concluding that NOPE, aka EPON, is a reference to that automation. What do you think?
